![]() If an icon MUST be used to indicate a menu (it shouldn't be), it should be one of the following: a folder icon, an ellipsis icon or a right arrow. Also, either of the proper usages of down arrow expect the arrow to appear on the right rather than the left side of the UI. While I'm happy there's a clean solution, I feel compelled to complain about the radically poor UI design choice of having an important/primary feature of material management be hidden by a drop down arrow (right next to a search field AND of the left side, no less).Īt the very least, if you want to hide a menu system, do not hide it under a down arrow, which is universally representative of either a drop-down list of mutually exclusive choices or an expandable pane, but most certainly NOT a menu. You can then click (left click is fine) the down arrow next to the search field. Next time you open 3ds Max, the new V-Ray toolbar should appear automatically, along with the V-Ray materials loaded in. You can access this menu from the Compact Material Editor by clicking the Get Material icon, which opens the Material/Map Browser. Close 3ds Max and reinstall V-Ray 5.
